Thank you for the details on this project. I am glad that it includes a movie theatre. My husband and I go on dates alot. The usual includes a movie, nice dinner and an evening stroll. I intend to visit the National harbor for our dates in the near future. I am sadden though that there are no stops near it. I hope the water taxi is not expensive. I know that it will be used alot. Thanks again!

Gaylord had its grand opening gala on Friday April 25th. I stopped by to have a drink and get some lunch! Westin looks like it is opening within the next month! Residence Inn under construction now, looks to be open at end of year and Wyndham Vacation Resort just started construction. The retailers look like they will be opening by Memorial Day, the first batch. Stop by - an interesting project - RIGHT OFF of I-95 at the "National Harbor" exit!

Steve, I can answer that as I had dinner at Moon Bay in the Gaylord (very nice!). Gaylord was open as of about a week ago - officially open on April 1, 2008. The Hampton Inn & Suites opened April 3, 2008. The Westin is still under construction. Thats about it at this point but if you are staying in the Gaylord, they have plenty of restaurants, etc. It really is a spectular facility. Great views of the Potomac from the atrium where the restaurants are located. Wish I could have stayed here - although there was a norovirus outbreak traced to the hotel late last week.

I really don't have any information on that Steve. I know that the Gaylord project should be fully open (the convention center, hotels and anything contained within the Gaylord property) as for the rest of National Harbor, the Westin should also be open, but that is all that I am aware of at this point.

What hotels, restaurants and shopping are open at this point? There is a conference that I am attending at the end of April at the Gaylord and I wasn't sure what else might be available to do. Thanks!

That's a very good question Dan..

In regards to the subway stops, there are none that I can tell, but across the river in Alexandria are a few stops, and they are planning on having a water taxi service from the Alexandria VA side.

This is the first I'm hearing of this project, but I think it makes great use of the site and is well-designed. But I wonder why the Peterson Companies did not go the extra mile and seek LEED certification or at least try to "green" the buildings? It would put a spotlight on LEED as this is in D.C.

Also, do you know if there are subway stops in the area that connect to downtown or is this solely relying on automobiles?
