The Simpsons Pokes Fun of Hotel Brands
Most of the TV I watch is documentaries, or a show that I can learn from - rarely do I watch sitcoms, but Fox’s The Simpsons is an exception – the show has such a funny sense of humor, taking the most random things and poking fun of them – the fact that the Simpsons always stays relevant to current events (mainly by making fun of them) always helps the situation too.
Last Sunday I was watching the Simpsons, and for a quick second, they showed the front of a Hotel.. It was called “Residence Inn by Hyatt Embassy Suites by Courtyard by Marriot—A Starwood Hotel”. As soon as I saw it I wanted to mention it here, but it was on the screen for such a short amount of time, I wasn’t able to copy it down. Today, two blog’s made quick mention to it: Hotels Mag and another from HotelHotsheet.
Here’s the image for those who didnt see it:

There are so many different hotel brands out there now, especially the major firms who own multiple brands – Starwood, Hilton, Marriott, Choice, InterContinental, that it can get very confusing as to which brand owns the hotel you’re staying in – so I thought that this was a great little bit from the Simpsons.
Also, this brings out a quick side note – have you noticed that out of the major hotel firms, Starwood is the only hotel company that does not have a hotel brand named after its company? I’ve always thought that was smart, because when you talk about Hilton – are you talking about the Hilton Group, or a Hilton hotel?
