I’ve Been Profiled in the New York Post!

Today I was profiled as part of an article in the New York Post (Page 50) about what unconventional menthods some people go through to get a job. I knew about this for a few weeks now but didn’t want to say anything in case something happened with the story (in fact, it was delayed a week) but today it came out – the New York Post did a profile on my unconventional ways of getting a job with Starwood Capital/Starwood Hotels!

About two weeks ago I went up to Manhattan to get my photo taken with a NY Post photographer, and had a short sit down interview with the writer who fortunately had a great opinion of me, thanks Mike.

Here’s some of what Mike had to say about this blog (and me):

On the blog, Calvo posts numerous entries each week specifically about the W chain and Starwood Hotels, as well as general observations about the industry. Recent posts include “Is Washington DC Getting Its First W Hotel?” and “Starwood Hotels to Sell Caesars Pocono Resorts.”

It’s a crisply packaged site, and the postings, while perhaps a bit esoteric, are well-researched, informative and thoughtful. Calvo is not a kook. He’s a sharply dressed, well-spoken, highly motivated post-grad utilizing the Internet as an extension of a resume – or a preview of job performance, perhaps.

Here’s a link to the entire article: Making A Hard Sell

Let me know what you think!
